Teaching steps:
Lead-in
Show the students a picture of Yueyanglou, and ask them to say something about it.
Show a picture about Olympic Games ,and ask : Do you know where the first Olympic games was held?
Show students the picture of the Acropolis in Greece and ask: What do you think of when you seen the Acropolis in Greece?
Reading comprehension.
Ask students to scan the reading passage and try to find answers to the three questions:
1.When was the Acropolis built?
2.What was the Acropolis made of?
3.Who gave the Acropolis its World Heritage listing
Ask students to read the passage again and complete Parts C1 and C2 individually. Ask students to read and finish the exercise individually. Check the answers as a class.
Ask students to finish Parts D and E.

We left London on June 21st and flew to Athens . We went on a British Airways flight . We left London at about 11:00 in the morning and arrived in Athensat about 3:00 in the afternoon . It was raining in London when we left ,but it was fine and warm in Athens . After we came out of the airport building we took a taxi to the town center . We stayed for three nights at a hotel .
