Train their reading skills.   过程与方法 Discussion to know more about The European Union. Explanations to understand the passage better. Practice to train Ss’ writing skills. Help Ss have a good knowledge of what they learnt in this module.   情感态度与价值观 Through the study of this period, Ss will surely improve their logical thinking. Besides, they can learn more about some foreign countries.  重点 To train their logical thinking by putting some sentences in the right order. Revision Ask a good pair to present their dialogue to the whole class. Step 2. Writing Let Ss make a list of key words of the region they want to write about. Then write down the passage about the region. One possible version: I live in Shangdong Province. Our province has many beautiful cities, such as Jinan, Qingdao, Dezhou, Tai’an, Qufu, Weihai, Yantai, and so on. There is almost no mountain here but a very famous one , Mount Tai, Which attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world. My hometown is also famous for Paji. It’s a pity that you would come here without having one. Step3 Cultural Corner 1. Fast reading Ask Ss to read the passage quickly and then answer the following questions. Q1. What is the European Union? Q2. How did it start? Q3. How many countries belong to it now? Suggested Answers: A1. The European Union is an organization of European countries. A2. The idea of the European Union began in the 1950s, and more and more countries joined it. A3. In 2004, the European Union increased to 25 members, and the number is still increasing. 2. Intensive reading Ask Ss to read the passage carefully and answer the two questions on page 9. Step 4 Language points on the other hand send…to little by little / step by step / side by side / face to face / arm in arm twice as big as… Step 4 Module File Ask Ss to look at Module File on page 10 and try to recall what they have learnt in the module. Then tick the things they are sure that they know and put a question mark next to the points they are not sure of and a cross to what they don’t know. Help Ss to share their ideas and deal with the difficult or confusing points. Ask Ss to read some articles or novels about sports to strengthen their reading skills and enlarge their vocabulary. Step 5.
