First aid is a temporary form of help given to someone who suddenly falls ill or gets injured before a doctor can be found. Often the illness or injury is not serious, but there are other times when giving first aid quickly will save one’s life. 2. (Do not move the patient. /Send for an ambulance at once. /Treat for shock if necessary. A bleeding nose: He has a nose/a nose bleed. (Stay calm. / Breathe through the mouth, not the nose. / Sit up and bend the head slightly forward. / Pinch捏 both nostrils鼻孔 shut using a thumb and forefinger./ Spit out any blood that collects in the mouth. Step Two Pre-reading: 1. Questions for the picture on P33: What has happened? What sort of injuries the child will have? What kind of first aid would you perform in the situation of burning? Key: Cool the area of skin; Wash it under the cold running water. Cover the wound with bandage/clean cloth. See a doctor if necessary.
