In China children are the centre of each family. All parents wish their children, especially senior high students, could go to top universities and have a bright future. In my opinion, our parents are responsible for us. Perhaps they are sometimes too strict with us, but what they are doing is out of nothing but love. The most important thing, I think, is that we should learn to communicate with them. I will never forget the day when our class won the first prize in the Class Theme Song Competition. Proud as we are, it is how we prepared ourselves for the big day that impresses me most.
Getting prepared for the competition was no easy work. It took us several days to decide on the song written by the “music genius” in our class accompanied by the melody of “When You Believe”. Then came the two weeks of practice, during which we learnt to cooperate with each other so as to sing a song of harmony in chorus. On top of that, what helped our class stood out were the creative style we showed on stage and the specially designed T-shirts we wore.
Talking of the highlights of our performance, personally I think it is our enthusiasm and team work that make our class a success in the competition. Our enthusiasm put us forward even on stormy days while team work paved the way to better understanding and cooperation. With all the efforts made, not only do we enjoy a great success but we have a closer friendship with each other, which we will keep in mind for ever.

Nowadays, more and more students attend different kinds of training classes or hire tutors to improve their grades at the weekends.

Some think it necessary to do so. Firstly, it’s more effective to study with a teacher’s help than by themselves. Secondly, you can have more chances to communicate with teachers (there are more interaction between students and teachers.) . Besides, you can make up for what you miss or fail to understand in classes on weekdays. Others think it unnecessary. For one thing, students can easily form the habit of dependence.
For another, students need time for rest and recreation at weekends. What’s worse, attending training classes or hiring tutors even causes some students not to listen attentively in their regular classes.
In my opinion, whether a training class or tutor is needed just depends. If you are really very weak at or interested in a certain subject, maybe it’s OK for you. But be sure to choose a good and suitable class or teacher, otherwise it would be a waste of time and money.
